3.3 When the vehicle is idling, be cautious of the transmission shaft for any abnormal noise, the working condition of the trans-mission shaft should be checked frequently.
3.4 Check the oil sea l effect of the transmission shaft. Generally, it is identified as effective oil seal if there is uniform and a lit-tle overflowing around the oil seal. But if the overflowing is not uniform and is more than normal, it is required to replace the oil seal.
3.5 It is not allowed to change any component of the transmission shaft assembly casually, parts like shim should not be added. Spline fit should not be adjusted casually. Otherwise, it may cause vibration and influence transmission quality. To ensure dynamic balance of transmission shaft, check frequently the balance soldering terminal to make sure that it is in place. When disassembling and repairing the transmission shaft, make marks on the transmission shaft and spline housing to keep the original setting order when reassembling them.
3.6 Generally, the clearance between spider neck and bearing does not exceed 0.13mm. The engaging clearance between ex-tendable spline and spline housing is not more than 0.15mm. If the operating limit is exceeded, it should be repaired or replaced. If a " click" sound is heard when starting or accelerating and obvious looseness of parts is felt when the vehicle is running, it is obviousthe transmission shaft components are getting loose if it is not the looseness of the transmission gear of drive axle.
3.7 If the chassis is buzzing in running and is getting more serious when speeding up, usually, it results from universal joint cross-head and bearings wor n out and becoming loose, or the middle bearings of transmission shaft worn out, or middle bearing rub-ber damaged, or the hanger becoming loose, or the position of hanger improper.
3.8 It is strictly forbidden to start with the gear at high speed.
3.9 It is strictly forbidden to release the clutch pedal suddenly.
3.10 It is strictly forbidden to drive at overload or over-speed.
3.11 Check the hanger fastening conditions of the transmission shaft frequently. Check whether the support rubber is damaged or not. Check whether the connection parts of the transmission shaft become loose or not. Check whether the transmission shaft be-comes distorted or not.
3.12 The transmission shaft must be replaced with the same model from the same manufacturer and the same model; otherwise, it may cause vibration to the complete vehicle or even damage to the transmission system.
4 、Maintenance procedures
4.1 Disassembling
1) Stop front and rear wheels of the vehicle with wedges.
2) Select gear position of the gear box (the first gear or reverse gear) to lock the transmission shaft.
3) Place a support under the transmission shaft or hang it with a hoisting cable to prevent it falling during disassembling.
4) Observe the spline fork and the transmission shaft, if there is no aligning mark, make one.
5) Remove the joint between the differential and the transmission shaft and pull the spline fork out of the transmission shaft.
